Grain Room, Queen Room with Fireplace in Lanesboro's Historic Stone Mill
Why the Grain Room
Corn, soybeans, and oats were stored in wooden bins that sat in the location of the Grain Room. The original auger, which functioned as a feed transporter to place grain into the bins, is still mounted to the ceiling. This richly colored room brings the mill's agricultural history into the décor through a flour sifter, seed sower, and wheat sheaves carved into the bedposts — details that make this one of the most distinctively themed rooms in the building.

The Grain Room includes a queen bed, an iron-claw fireplace, and a private bath. A decorative loft adds visual character to the space without sacrificing the coziness that makes this room a comfortable retreat after a day in Bluff Country.
